Bugant Nandin LLC specializes in the professional implementation of technical and biological land rehabilitation, with a focus on restoring ecosystems affected and degraded by mining activities.

In 2023, commissioned by Oyu Tolgoi LLC, and as part of the “Billion Trees” National Movement initiated by the President of Mongolia and the “Leave 100 Million Trees as a Legacy” program, Bugant Nandin LLC successfully completed technical rehabilitation of 208.5 hectares in the Yalbag Valley, Yeröö soum, Selenge Province.

As part of the rehabilitation works, the landform was restored through engineering solutions that took into consideration the original terrain, soil structure, water flow and natural environmental conditions of the degraded area. These measures established the necessary conditions for the natural regeneration of the ecosystem.

Today, in 2026, three years after the completion of the rehabilitation works, we are presenting the actual results of how the natural environment of the Yalbag Valley has changed and recovered.

Areas that had previously been severely disturbed, with reduced vegetation cover and a significant loss of their natural landscape, are now showing signs of natural recovery. Vegetation has begun to regenerate, the soil has become more stable, natural water flows have been restored, and the ecological recovery of the area is progressing.

This is a real example demonstrating that rehabilitation does not end when the physical work is completed. Properly planned and professionally implemented technical rehabilitation creates the conditions necessary for nature to recover on its own, allowing ecosystem regeneration to continue over time.
